Full bio
Sahara Al-Madi is a computational linguist working at the intersection of language, AI security and governance. She founded the Linguistic Security Institute (LSI), an open-source research initiative built on a simple principle: AI systems must be accountable to the communities whose languages they process. She has presented at BSides San Diego, the Geological Society of America, the GEO Indigenous Summit and DEATHCon, and builds open-source tools including the Linguistic Firewall and Seven Generations in Orbit. Sahara has led multilingual AI data and evaluation work in industry, holds a B.A. in Applied Linguistics from UCLA, and is pursuing an M.S. in Computer Science at Georgia Tech.
